Alcohol Rehab Centers

I started doing heroin when I was 19 years old. I had been in and out of just about every detox and drug treatment center in the state. Each wanted to put me on Methadone, which I didn't want.

I was going into treatment for the 15th time and had no place to go to when I got out. A friend referred me to Bobby’s sober house. I had already lost everything and everybody around me, so I had nothing to lose to try.

The house rules showed me the steps to break my addictive patterns. I have been clean and sober ever since, over 7 years. I met some of my best friends in that house, including Bobby and Gail. Honestly, words can't express my thanks - I don't know what I would have done without them.

Since I moved out of the house, I started my own business and recently bought my 1st home. I live a good life, and it gets better everyday.

L
ife at The Way Back

This daily schedule shows a basic day while living in our stage 1 recovery center. Our daily events are structured to teach people the tools and techniques to get sober and healthy. We work to heal the physical, mental and spiritual breakdown that occurs when one is addicted to drugs or alcohol.

Upon admittance (intake) to The Way Back, new residents set goals for themselves and what they hope to achieve. Personal evaluations are required weekly from each resident, and are reviewed to help residents stay on pace to meet their goals.

Our stage 1 recovery center is located in rural Durham, Connecticut. When schedules note "recreation" residents are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors on site grounds, use our on-site gym and swimming pool, and engage in healthy activities. Those residents who are continuing their education will have sufficient time throughout the day to do so.
